Client Finds Inspiration in HOPE Program
I first learned about PRCE from a friend. I wasn't sure of what I was about to sign up for, but decided, why not give it a try. This experience has been a real blessing and inspiration to me. From the warm, caring and loving staff, to the teacher, facilitators and classes, I have felt comfortable in this program.
I have found a new and true friend in Jesus, through inspiration from Bible classes and constant prayers. My faith has increased and I have experienced God in a whole new way. I have seen His hands move in my life, especially during this pregnancy. Being afforded the opportunity to earn while you learn is a blessing. It's really not about earning, these vast informational and training sessions can't be found anywhere else. I am thankful to God for sending me to the center and may He continue to bless the staff abundantly and continue to provide them with the resources to keep these doors open always.
Ann: At first I didn't know how I was going to manage with a baby on the way, but now that she is here, I feel like everything is alright as long as I have her....I could have only $.25 in my pocket and as long as I have my baby, I'd be happy. I'm so glad that I had the support in the beginning to see me through the pregnancy.
I appreciate all of the help you have given me. I am very blessed to have met you. Your classes have helped me make some good decisions. Thank you for all of your help and for keeping me in your prayers.
Danielle: I didn't know what I was going to do when I found out I was pregnant, I was so scared. But now that I've gone through the Hope Program and had my baby, I can't imagine any other way to have it....I am now so happy.
Raquel: My baby is now one year old and I've been able to get everything thing I've needed for him through the Hope Program. I'm so proud that I was able to earn everything myself.
We’re all guilty at one time or another of taking life for granted, thinking we’re invincible, and believing that bad things can’t happen to us!
I’ll be the 1st to raise my hand. At 17, I thought I knew it all and had everything under control. Then in an instant, my world turned upside down and I became a statistic. I was a teenage parent.
I can honestly say that that was the scariest time of my life. The father of the baby abandoned me; I had a non-supportive family, no job, and no education. I had no clue what I was going to do. I was scared and angry, and there were times I believed abortion was the only option for me. I cried every single day. Prayed to God, even yelled at God for doing this to me.
The 1st time I went to the doctor and heard my baby’s heartbeat, I realized God didn’t do anything TO me. He did something FOR me. He gave me a gift.
I got involved in the Hope program at the Pregnancy Center in Baytown, and pretty soon I wasn’t so scared anymore; they helped me get into school, and now I have a high school diploma. They provided clothes, formula, diapers, anything I could possibly need for my baby, and anything I could need for myself.
Nowadays, I don’t have much free time to participate in the program, but all for good reason. I’m the proud mother of a beautiful, healthy and very loved little boy. I thank God every day for the privilege of watching him grow up.
I’m 19 now, and still a single mom. It’s a lot of hard work, and sometimes it’s still a little scary, but when I look into my son’s eyes, I know that it’s all worth it.
Danielle, mother of Jayden.
